Electrical Discharge Machining

Wire EDM, or wire electrical discharge machining, is a machining method used in the manufacturing industry to cut and shape materials. It is a form of electrical discharge machining where a thin wire of metal (usually copper or brass) is used as an electrical electrode. The process involves guiding the wire carefully through the workpiece while creating electrical discharges between the wire and the workpiece. These discharges generate extremely high temperatures, melting and removing material from the workpiece in small controlled portions.
