Strapping profile in a new material

Clamp band, bulge band, or jockmock iron. As they say, a beloved child has many names, and so it truly is with our popular clamp band. It is one of the products most frequently used in our extensive range, and its versatility is endless. Now, we are launching a clamp band made of Z4 material which is more environmentally friendly, lighter in weight, and has better corrosion resistance.

Strapping profiles are used daily in installations. On machines or when a cable needs to be routed down from a cable tray to a device or to a button on a wall. The installer always carries strapping profiles to the job site to be able to clamp one or a few cables - easily.

Several models

Since strapping profiles are a product used everywhere, we have developed several different variants over the years. They are available in aluminum in widths of 15 and 25 mm, and now in 30 mm width, they are also available in stainless and acid-resistant materials.

A new material

We always strive to use sustainable materials, and in this way, we have reduced the overall environmental impact without compromising on quality. This means that our strapping profiles in Z4 material are not only easier to handle but also help to reduce carbon emissions and resource usage.

The material is a blend of zinc, silicon, and magnesium, and the corrosion resistance is classified as C4 grade eight. This corresponds to approximately 85µm coating thickness for a hot-dip galvanized product. Normally, 60µm is considered the coating thickness for a hot-dip galvanized product.
It also has a smoother surface, reducing the risk of cuts. If the strapping profile needs to be cut, the cut edges self-heal. Red edges may appear at the beginning of the healing process, but this is completely normal.

Make your choice for the environment and the future when you buy clamp bands next time, choose 11 160 01 instead of 11 160 00 for a better product.

In June 2024, we reached a reduction of 100,000 kilograms of CO₂ in our carbon footprint. This is equivalent to approximately 740,000 kilometers of driving in a gasoline-powered car!

Personal presentation

Patrik Hillström

1990 was the year Patrik Hillström was employed at MP bolagen, so he has been on a fantastic journey over the years. He has tried the role of salesman, but now Patrik is responsible for product development of our steel products such as cable ladders etc.

It is a well-managed company that is not afraid to develop and invest, he thinks.

A bit of a training junkie with a lot of focus according to colleagues, but also someone who likes outdoor life.

He don't have a direct favorite destination, but a trip with the cab is never wrong. Best is still a beautiful sparkling winter day on the ski track, which is hard to beat, says Patrik.
