What program are you studying and why?

I am currently studying the Public Procurement and Purchasing program at TUC University in Jönköping. I chose this program because I wanted to pursue an education that (hopefully) leads to a job after graduation and because it is a profession where one can develop throughout their career.

Can you tell us about yourself and your educational background?

My name is Linn Thomsen, I am 27 years old, and I live and grew up in Vetlanda. I studied the Social Sciences program with a focus on Behavioral Science at Njudungsgymnasiet.

How did you end up choosing MP bolagen as your internship site?

I have only heard good things about MP bolagen and have a friend who did her LIA (Learning in Work) at the company, and she was very satisfied. It was also an obvious choice for me because I have an interest in production and find it very enjoyable.

What tasks have you had during your internship?

I have had the opportunity to see various aspects of the role of a purchaser and what it entails at MP bolagen. I have participated in supplier visits, made purchases, adjusted new prices, and been involved in accounting for invoices, among other tasks.

In what way has your internship affected your view of your education and future career opportunities?

I have become much more positive about the profession, and I am excited to enter the workforce. I feel that I have learned an incredible amount during my 10 weeks at MP, and I hope to get a job as a purchaser in a manufacturing industry after I graduate.

What is your report/essay about?

My report is about how to implement sustainability in supplier agreements, but it also describes how the company works with sustainability.

What are the results of your report/essay?

I found that the sustainability efforts permeate the entire organization and are addressed from various angles and aspects throughout the company. Examples include fossil-free steel, sustainable work environments, and materials produced with solar, wind, and hydro energy. It is time to work towards more sustainable materials, and the future is fossil-free. MP bolagen aims to be at the forefront of this important work.

How do you view MP bolagen as a company?

I have a positive view of MP bolagen as a company and see it as a very attractive employer. It is a family-oriented company where people care about each other and everyone’s well-being. There is a warmth here, and the feeling that everyone is important permeates the daily work.

How do you think your experiences from the LIA will impact your future work life and career?

I take with me many positive experiences and knowledge for my upcoming professional life. The knowledge I have gained from my LIA will be very useful in my career.

Anything you would like to add?

I want to thank you for such a warm welcome and positive attitude towards me as an LIA student. I have really enjoyed the work and my colleagues, and I hope our paths cross again in the future.
